His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama
His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, describes himself as a simple Buddhist monk. He is the spiritual leader of Tibet. He was born on 6 July 1935, to a farming family, in a small hamlet located in Taktser, Amdo, and northeastern Tibet. At the very young age of two, the child who was named LhamoDhondup at that time, was recognized as the reincarnation of the previous 13th Dalai Lama, ThubtenGyatso. The Dalai Lamas are believed to be manifestations of Avalokiteshvara or Chenrezig, the Bodhisattva of Compassion and the patron saint of Tibet.
HH Dalai Lama is happy to give the Grand Maitreya Project his own support and he feels now more than ever that the promotion of loving kindness is needed. His Holiness has provided relics of the Buddha and other holy items to the Foundation. The holy relics and items will be enshrined in both the statue and the stupa.
His Eminence Khamba Lama Gyabje Choijamts Demberel
HE Khamba Lama was born in 1951 in the Tuw province of Mongolia. He studied and graduated at Zanabazar Buddhist University of Mongolia in 1976. HE Khamba Lama then studied at the Institute of Buddhist Dialectics Dharamsala, India from 1983 to 1986. Appointed as a Khamba lama of Gandantegchenling Monastery, Center of Mongolian Buddhists in 1993.Khamba Lama D.Choijamts is president of the Asian Buddhist conference for Peace, which is headquartered in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. During the sixth Buddhist summit he was elected as a president of world Buddhist supreme conference.
Lama Jhado Rinpoche
Khensur Jhado Rinpoche (Tenzin Jungne) was born in 1954 to a nomadic family living in the area of Namtso Lake, 220 kilometers north of Lhasa, Tibet. At the age of three he was recognized and enthroned as the 6th incarnation of the abbot of Jhado Monastery. After fleeing Tibet in 1959, Rinpoche lived briefly in Nepal and later spent several years in Dalhausie and Dharamsala in North India where he completed his basic Tibetan and Buddhist studies. Rinpoche took his vows as a monk from His Holiness the Dalai Lama in 1964 and his full ordination vows from the late Ling Rinpoche in 1973.
Nechung Oracle/Venerable Thupten Ngodup
The Nechung Oracle is the State Oracle of Tibet. The Nechung Oracle currently resides with the current Dalai Lama in Dharamsala, India. The present oracle, Ven. ThuptenNgodup was born in Tibet in 1958 and is a descendent of the famous Tantric Master, Nga-dakNyang-relwa (1136 – 1204.) Early on he fled with his parents into exile to India and later joined the Nechung Monastery as a novice monk in 1971. In 1987, he was recognized as the true successor of the previous Nechung Medium, who passed away in 1984. He was officially enthroned in 1988 as the Nechung Medium, the Chief State Oracle of Tibet.
